Christian Tobler’s new book, Fighting in Armour, is a compendium of techniques using all the common used knightly arms from dagger to spear and across a wide selection of German historical sources.

At the Tobler-one: Day of Armour, which took place on June 13, 2026, the author presented a selection of longsword and poleaxe techniques from his book across a four-hour seminar. The event was intended for experienced practitioners of harnischfechten and beginners alike—because you don’t need armor to practice fighting in armor.

Attendees included SCA, Buhurt, and HEMA practitioners of armor in a addition to those merely starting out in their armor journey.
